Job Description

The IT Systems Administrator, is a highly qualified member of the Information Technology Team who has a comprehensive understanding across IT functions. The IT Systems Administrator maintains and supports assigned IT Systems. This position also identifies areas for process improvement and merges those initiatives into the applications.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  •  In the absence of an available Manager, the System Administrator III fills in the role of management.
  •  24 hour on-call support availability and flexible scheduling.
  •  Provides training and staff development for IT staff.
  •  Functions as an escalation point for IT staff. 
  •  Active management of system outages.
  •  Performs daily task for provisioning as required.
  •  Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more key IT applications. 
  •  Manages the upkeep, configuration, and reliable of assigned IT applications.
  •  Ensures that the uptimeperformanceresources, and security of the applications he or she manages meet the needs of the users.
  •  Reviews request for changes to assigned applications and works with requestors to provide the most proficient solution. Once approved, implements the requested changes.
  •  Performs system engineering task such as, the daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, system patching, and other task as required.
  •  Ability to execute special projects, must be able to work independently and interact with others within IT and the business to ensure timely, complete and effective execution of duties.
  •  Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the application infrastructure; Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks and identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale. 
  •  Planning and execution of minor projects, upgrades, and change
  •  Ability to provide user support of IT applications and systems per established SOPs.
  •  Designs and executes administrative configuration per discretion. 
  •  Performs analysis for role based permissions and provides recommendations for improved processes.
  •  Continually communications with all departments for improvements to support and process.
  •  Ability to communicate and work with managers, vendors, costars, contractors and customers as required.
  •  User training, problem solving and general assistance.
  •  Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  •  At least 21 years of age.
  •  Minimum of 2 – 3 years of IT Operations or Application Support experience. 
  •  Minimum of 2 – 3 years of Systems Administration experience or leading a team of support techs. 
  •  Ability to effectively communicate in English
  •  Ability to interpret standard operating procedures and work instructions
  •  Highly motivated, dependable, productive and disciplined team player who is a continuous learner.

Preferred Requirements:

  •  A strong technical aptitude and desire to learn as a member of a mature high performing team.
  •  Knowledge of how to perform administration of standard casino/resort suite of applications.
  •  Understanding of role based access and provisioning.
  •  Experience in basic system engineering task and server maintenance.
  •  Previous experience in a management or leadership role.

Education:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field and three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Certificate/License: 

  •  Must have a valid Nevada gaming card.

  •  Work is performed in an office environment.
