The senior AWS engineer position is based in Las Vegas and is a senior level technologist who supports the Corporate Technology department in the identification and development of best practices o be used in the implementation and support of IT services. This technologist is responsible for understanding deep technical practices required to effectively design standards and establish best practice designs of IT solutions.
Position can also be remote and no H1B.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing Technical Subject Matter Expertise for infrastructure operation
Analyzing business requirements, and
Supporting project efforts through the translation of business requirements into technical designs.
Adhere to and support the Architecture and Design approach.
Providing high-level IT job duties which may include:
Business and Technical Leadership
System, Network, and Security Analysis
Code Development
or other similarly skilled computer-related work
Building and Sustaining IT Service Portfolio
Market or participate in marketing services.
Participate in firm-building activities
Recommend and drive improvements to IT services.
Project Oversight
Adhere to and support the project management approach and other PMO principles and practices
Ensure project quality and compliance with all related regulations
Ensure communication among all key stakeholders
Provide technical leadership to ensure that organizational data security needs are met. Identifies existing and introduces new best practices within assigned area.
Consults with business leaders to develop to create data security solutions.
Implement system security requirements defined under Information Security standards.
Manage information security infrastructure e.g. malware protection, web layer protection, firewalls, patching and data leakage protection.
Update, Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
Collaborate with Information Security team in developing technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings (RCAs), outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.
Monitor, maintain & administrate security measures for the protection of cloud systems

Deep understanding of core AWS cloud technologies and services, with a focus on AWS IaaS and PaaS services.
Experience in supporting and maintaining Information security systems, system hardening, patching process, and next-generation security response.
Knowledge of various industry compliance and regulatory information security standards such HIPAA, SSAE 16, SOC1, SOC2, HITRUST and NIST is highly desired.
Thorough understanding of latest security principles, techniques and protocols
Self-managed and motivated individual with strong leadership skill.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and or PowerShell.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience
10+ years of direct experience designing and supporting enterprise networks in a data center environment.
3+ years of direct experience designing and supporting enterprise networks in a public cloud environment.
Hands on experience with AWS and/or Azure platform.
Certifications in AWS Solution Architect Associate, Microsoft Certified Solution Associate – Cloud Platform, or similar is desired
Certifications in CISSP or similar is desired.
