Salary: $150,000.00
Overall Objective (Briefly summarize the positions purpose and overall responsibility)
This position is responsible for accounting activities, including monthly accounting close process, preparation of financial statements, fixed assets, general ledger, cost reporting, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, budget preparation, maintaining internal controls, policies and procedures and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
• Produce accurate and timely financial statements
• Responsible for the month-end closing process and ensure closing is completed on an accurate and timely basis, including account analysis, general ledger reconciliations and variance analysis
• Preparation of annual income tax data and/or returns, monthly sales tax returns and annual property tax filings
• Special projects as assigned. For example, implement a fixed asses sub-ledger system, automated purchase order system, inventory tracking and new payroll system
• Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Development of system controls to ensure data integrity and internal control compliance
• Completes annual calendar budget and forecasts
• Prepares/approves monthly journal entries
• Prepares support analysis for capital asset projects
• Randomly audits work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
• Ad hoc analysis of data
• Responsible for management of the IT Department

• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.
Experience:
• Five to seven years of experience after qualification.
• Mine site accounting background in a start-up environment is preferred
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licenses:
• Holds a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA)
